BUSINESS & PROPERTY
Business Pack Insurance
A practical way for Australian businesses to bring several everyday covers together in one policy structure.
OVERVIEW
Built around the parts of your business that need protecting
Business Pack Insurance is a familiar Australian SME insurance structure. Rather than treating every exposure as a separate purchase, a Business Pack can combine selected sections to suit the business, premises and operations.
Depending on the insurer and the risk, sections may include property, contents, stock, business interruption, theft, money, glass, machinery breakdown, electronic equipment, public liability, products liability and other optional covers.
The important point is not how many sections are available. It is choosing the sections that reflect what the business actually owns, relies on and could be liable for.
WHAT WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND
Your premises, property and day-to-day operation
Expect questions about your occupation, turnover, premises, construction, stock, equipment, security, previous losses and the activities carried out at each location. Location-specific exposures such as bushfire, cyclone, flood, storm and hail can also be material to property underwriting.
If the business depends heavily on a particular premises, supplier, customer or piece of equipment, business interruption planning may deserve as much attention as the physical property itself.
Understand the cover. Or begin.

Australian insurance context
For Australian organisations, Business Pack Insurance should be considered against the actual activities, location, scale, contracts, assets and risk controls of the business. Insurance requirements and insurer appetite can vary by state or territory and by the way the risk is presented.
